WHAT IS SPATZ3?

Spatz3 Gastric Balloon is the world’s first and only Dynamic- Intragastric Balloon (Dynamic-IGB) in the market. The Spatz3 balloon features volume-adjustment, helping people reach optimal weight loss results and attitude change towards food.

HOW IT WORKS

Spatz3 is the Only Dynamic-Adjustable Balloon system.
The Spatz3 is placed in the stomach and occupies approximately one-third of the stomach’s volume. This causes the stomach to empty very slowly, keeping food in longer than usual. The food builds up over time which produces symptoms that signal the patient that food is abundant in the stomach.
The Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon is inserted during an outpatient procedure that takes about 15 minutes and is performed under sedation. No incisions or hospitalization are required. It is a walk-in, walk-out procedure.

INTRODUCING DYNAMIC-INTRAGASTRIC BALLOON (DYNAMIC-IGB)

Ordinary gastric balloons sometimes need to be removed due to intolerance. Using the Spatz3, we can avoid early removal by reducing the volume of the balloon thus extending the treatment process to achieve the most successful weight loss results.
The Spatz3 is the only intragastric balloon that enables volume adjustment, which translates into increased success rates.
When gastric balloons lose their effect after several months, we volume-adjust the Spatz3, which translates into increased success rates.

ADJUSTABLE BALLOONS ACHIEVE DOUBLE THE WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS RATES

Volume-Adjust Up

Volume-Adjust Up is done between the 4th and 6th months, designed to extend the treatment process and achieve better weight loss results.

Published studies report that balloon efficiency diminishes after 3 months (on average) and patients start to regain weight at the 4th or 5th month (with standard balloons). Spatz3 patients can have balloon volume increased when needed to help prevent weight regain and to achieve extra weight loss.

Volume-Adjust Down

Volume-Adjust Down is used to help patients deal with intolerance to gastric balloons.

It is known that approximately 10% of standard gastric balloon patients face early extraction due to intolerance, during the 1st month. The Spatz3 alleviates this intolerance and successfully reduces the rate of early extractions by 90%.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

The amount of weight you lose will depend on how closely you follow your diet and adopt the long-term lifestyle changes. Average weight loss (at the end of treatment) of 16 kg to 25 kg are reported with Spatz3 adjustable balloon. Depending on your initial weight and your motivation, significantly greater weight losses have been achieved.
